Add Some SUNSHINE Into Your Day!

In the winter when there's less sunlight, our moods are usually the first things to go dark. Put simply, sunlight increases the production of serotonin (a chemical which helps regulate mood) in our brains. When we're used to a certain amount of sunlight (and therefore serotonin levels), it takes time to adjust to a different environment. Unfortunately, I can't physically bring more actual sunshine to your day... but I can help you make your own sunshine with these sunny ideas!

Add Some SUNSHINE Into Your Life!

1. Sunlight Scents: Uplifting and invigorating scents like citrus create a feeling of energy and light, while warm vanilla and rich amber mimic the sun's warmth. Try Zent's Sun collection for your body, and this Solar Blossom candle to uplift your spirits.

2. Solar Plexus Chakra: This Hindu system of alignment defines seven energy centers that correspond to different attributes. The Solar Plexus chakra, or Manipura, is known as the "seat of fire" in the body. When this energy center is out of balance, our bodies can feel a loss of energy. To get that sunshine back into your body, get into poses that engage your core (like bow pose or cobra) on this sunny yoga mat from Affirmats. Give yourself an extra boost with Aveda's Chakra 3 Body Mist, and a citrine crystal to inspire you.

3. Light: The most obvious way to bring more light into your life is to, well, have more light. Not only is this lamp a beautiful sunny yellow, but it is solar-powered as well!

4. Daily Sunbeams: Even though in space the sun is a fiery orange-red, in our sky it appears to be a bright white-yellow. Add those colors into your life with this beautiful bracelet and these leggings from Nike that radiate sunshine!
